This collagraph was inspired by many winter visits to Leeds City Square in the late 1990's. It is based on sketches I made sitting in the square fascinated with the statues and the ornate advertising structures seen in this work behind the two central figures.
This image depicts City Square previous to the refurbishment in 2003 when one side of the square was closed off to traffic, fountains were added and the eight nymphs were moved to different positions within the square.
